Dental care begins from the moment you receive your first baby tooth, and AZ Dental is here to help! When your child begins getting their first set of teeth, bring them to our San Jose dental practice, and our caring, gentle pedodontist can help your child’s teeth remain healthy for life. Dr. Allan Pang is an experienced kids' dentist, and our dentists are here to care for all your family’s dental needs, no matter their age!
Your Child's First Dental Visit
At AZ Dental, we recommend that your child start receiving professional dental care from the time they receive their first baby tooth. By caring for your child’s teeth early on, Dr. Pang can help your child’s smile stay healthy, and help them avoid problems in the future. Our pedodontist can also help you and your child know how to care for their teeth at home, as well as feel comfortable with coming to the dentist.
The American Dental Association recommends that children begin receiving dental care at a very young age, typically no more than six months after their first baby tooth comes in, or no later than their first birthday. At our practice, we support this recommendation, and we can help your child get the care their smile needs right from the beginning. Plus, our caring, friendly, and gentle pedodontist can help your child feel comfortable with going to the dentist from their first visit.
During your child’s first visit to our San Jose dental office, our dentists will provide a comprehensive dental cleaning and exam. It is important to make sure that all teeth, even if there is just one, remain clean and plaque-free. Children are often susceptible to tooth decay because their teeth are still developing. Starting with your child’s first visit, our pedodontist can also monitor your child’s growth patterns for signs of any oral health conditions and abnormalities, to provide treatment as early as possible.
Checkups and Preventive Care
At AZ Dental, we encourage you to bring your child to our office approximately every six months for a regular dental exam and cleaning. During this visit, our friendly dentist and team will gently clean your child’s teeth and check for signs of dental problems, such as tooth decay.
Each member of our team is caring and gentle, and we are practiced at making children feel comfortable. We understand that it is important to build a positive, trusting relationship between your child and all of their doctors at a young age, and we are dedicated to ensuring that your child feels comfortable and safe at our office. If you have any questions about your child’s dental health or oral development, we welcome you to ask us during the visit or by calling our office.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
While prevention is at the core of our complete body dentistry philosophy, small cavities may still arise. We use safe, mercury-free tooth-colored dental fillings to address these issues effectively.
Tooth Extractions for Kids
Gentle tooth extractions may be recommended for children with decay or crowding issues. This can contribute to their overall body health as they continue to grow. For teens experiencing pain in the back of their mouth, AZ Dental offers preventive wisdom tooth extractions and removal of impacted wisdom teeth.
